International Travel Restrictions remain under GCQ

12345The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it will continue to implement international flight travel restrictions at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) despite the lifting of the modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and its being placed under general community quarantine (GCQ). In a statement, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said travel restrictions that existed under ECQ and MECQ are still in place unless said restrictions are eased or lifted by the government.

DOLE reminded Employers to strict observance of temporary wage

12345This comes over a week after the Department of Labor and Employment said that Employers can negotiate with their workers' to "voluntarily" slash wages and related benefits for up to six months in Labor Advisory No. 17 dated May 18.

According to the labor advisory, any changes and arrangements agreed upon are to be reported to DOLE for documentation and proper monitoring. In an earlier webinar, labor group Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino slammed the advisory, saying that it was insensitive for it to have been issued in the middle of a pandemic and that it was being framed as "instead of closing down or laying off workers, it must be better to lower wages."

QuarantineWith effect from the day subsequent to the Announcement the FAC Immigration Consultancy to modulate all Visa process under the Quarantine rules.

In Metro Manila exist different Quarantine Levels, means not all Government Authorities are available to process the necessary Verification or Authentication. We received every day Inquiry like "How long will you require to finish my 9(g) Visa or 13 (a) Visa etc" ?

With reference to extra Check Point controls we need triple time to arrange all requested documents for Visa process.

Tourist Visa Extension

Quarantine for at least 14 days after arrival in the Philippines

FACNEWSEric Apolonio, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesperson added scheduled inbound international commercial flights would be allowed to land at the NAIA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, provided they secure approval from CAAP 48 hours before their scheduled departure from the airport of origin.

“This is to properly coordinate the necessary slotting and rescheduling of flights to subscribe to the 400 passengers per day capacity of NAIA, as imposed by the National Task Force (for Covid-19),” he said. Apolonio said the restrictions, which will run from May 11 to June 10, 2020, shall only apply to NAIA.
